Nathan is a versatile musician with a background in classical piano, contemporary piano and conducting
His performance experiences encompasses, piano repertoire, chamber music, film music and contemporary music.
Nathan is a graduate of Melbourne Conservatorium of Music at The University of Melbourne in Piano Performance and Musicology (Piano)
He has performed classical piano and contemporary repertoire at the Conservatorium and public events with MSO as well as corporate events in Melbourne as a soloist and accompanist. Outside of Nathan’s piano engagements he is also a conductor, and conducts orchestral, oratorio, operatic repertoire and contemporary orchestral work.
He has a great passion for coaching students of all ages from beginner to professional piano. And enjoys running his music career alongside his passion for performance. Additional to Nathan’s engagements in piano and conducting, he is also an experienced singer performing as a tenor in oratorio, opera, choral and musicals. And is a singer for the Melbourne Bach Choir and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Chorus and was the 2019 recipient of Melbourne Bach Choir Scholarship.
Outside of Nathan’s work with our dedicated Piano Students studying for fun, to prepare AMEB/audition and/or concerts. Nathan also hosts HOV’S unique piano teaching program Piano for Singers offered exclusively at The House of Voice. His goal in teaching is always to observe each student’s individual learning style and help them discover what inspires them, while ensuring a fruitful and enjoyable learning experience. These lesson’s are not singing lessons (as we only teach what we are qualified in) however Nathan assists those who can already sing (or are having lessons from our qualified singing teachers at The House of Voice) how to accompany themselves quickly and functionally, imparting tools to help coordinate both instruments.
Nathan is also passionate about imparting the gift of music to all generations, and is adored by all HOV students for his wonderfully inspiring classes which have you playing and understanding music better than ever – with an always calm, patient and kind approach
